For spatial research, add a reference vector layer on the map and select any of its features by clicking on it, drawing a rectangle while holding the Shift key, or choosing Draw polygon from the map menu and clicking the first vertex to close the area. You can then use the selected locations for spatial research by clicking the magnifying-glass icon.

For general exploration, add any layer to your map and use the same click interaction to display a single value or temporal evolution preview.
